Abstract
- Comprehensive health records (CHRs) that encompass patients' medical and dental information is here and now. CHRs enable health care providers to deliver personalized, precision medicine/dentistry effectively and efficiently. The objective of this report is to provide an overview of strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities associated with a comprehensive health care record system that integrates medical and dentalrecords. Strengths and benefits of CHRs (elevated patient safety, collaborative care, holistic patient care, enhanced research capabilities) are explained, and practical challenges associated with operating multiple record systems (specifically in medical and dental imaging), data migration and integration are explored.
