Abstract

According to an article in Women's Health Weekly, researchers have identified a potential gene expression signature in pregranulosa cells that may initiate the activation of primordial follicles in the ovaries. This activation is a crucial step in oocyte maturation and ovulation. The study found that the protein Tnni3, which is involved in actin-binding, is upregulated in pregranulosa cells during cell-cycle resumption. These findings suggest that pregranulosa cells likely play a role in initiating follicle activation and support the idea that changes in cell tension are involved in this process. However, it is important to note that this research has not yet undergone peer review. [Extracted from the article]
