Abstract

A recent report from the Medical University of Lodz in Poland explores the role of melatonin in various biological processes and its potential therapeutic effects. Melatonin, a hormone found in diverse organisms, regulates diurnal rhythms, redox homeostasis, intestinal functions, and fetal development, and has antioxidant and analgesic properties. The report specifically examines the impact of magnetic fields, such as radio frequency/extra low frequency (RF/ELF EMF) and static magnetic fields, on melatonin secretion and health outcomes. While melatonin can amplify electromagnetic signals and have positive effects, it can also intensify pathogenic processes in certain cases. Further research is needed to fully understand the influence of magnetic fields on melatonin and its implications for health. [Extracted from the article]
