Abstract

A study conducted at Volgograd State Medical University in Russia has found that inhibiting soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH) shows promise as a therapeutic strategy for treating neuropathic pain. The researchers discovered that a compound called AMHDU demonstrated notable analgesic effects in both inflammatory and diabetic neuropathy models. AMHDU was found to be comparable to celecoxib as an analgesic and showed a prominent analgesic activity in a diabetic tactile allodynia model. The compound also exhibited low acute oral toxicity and a high therapeutic index, making it a promising candidate for further evaluation and optimization. [Extracted from the article]
