Abstract

A study conducted by researchers at Yarmouk University in Irbid, Jordan, has developed a new type of Fricke radio-chromic gel dosimeter for use in radiotherapy. The dosimeter, made from a composition of polyvinyl alcohol, xylenol orange, and gellan gum, was found to have high sensitivity and a low diffusion coefficient. The dosimeter demonstrated independence of beam energy and dose rate, and the estimated doses had a total uncertainty of 3.96% at a 95% confidence level. The research has been peer-reviewed and published in the journal Radiation Measurements. [Extracted from the article]
