Abstract

A study conducted at Mustansiriyah University investigated the therapeutic effects of Mucuna pruriens seed extract on male rats with reproductive endocrine disruptions induced by chlorpromazine. The study involved five groups of rats, including a negative control group, an induction group that received chlorpromazine, and three treatment groups that received different doses of Mucuna pruriens. The results showed that Mucuna pruriens treatment improved gene expression and hormone levels, including testosterone, FSH, LH, and prolactin, and also improved testicular damage compared to the induction group. The study suggests that Mucuna pruriens may have potential therapeutic benefits for male reproductive endocrine disruptions caused by chlorpromazine. [Extracted from the article]
