Abstract
- A recent report from the University of Salamanca in Spain highlights the role of the mevalonate pathway in breast cancer. The study found that the expression of mevalonate pathway enzymes is regulated by specific factors in breast cancer cells. Additionally, key enzymes in this pathway were found to contribute to primary tumorigenesis and the metastatic spread of breast cancer cells to the lungs. The findings provide new insights into the mechanisms of breast cancer and potential targets for treatment. [Extracted from the article]
