Abstract

A case report from Nanjing Medical University in China discusses the use of colonic transendoscopic enteral tubing (TET) combined with retrograde colon imaging to confirm the cause of difficult colonoscopy. The report describes the case of an 85-year-old male who underwent a difficult colonoscopy that was unsuccessful in intubating the cecum. TET was then performed, and retrograde colon imaging through the TET tube provided visualization of the entire colon and terminal ileum. The final diagnosis was descending colon redundancy. The study suggests that this approach may be an effective supplementary method for identifying causes of difficult colonoscopy and improving diagnostic accuracy for bowel diseases.
