Abstract

A recent study conducted in China by the Eye Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University examined the use of endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy (En-DCR) in the management of acute dacryocystitis (AD). The study analyzed the clinical data of 554 adult AD patients who presented at seven tertiary eye care centers over a 10-year period. The results showed that En-DCR had a success rate of over 90% in treating AD. The study suggests that En-DCR can be performed during an acute episode of AD with favorable outcomes.
