Abstract

A preprint abstract discusses the development and validation of models to predict the status of alpha-synuclein (a-syn) in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in individuals with and without Parkinson's disease (PD). The models were based on easily accessible clinical predictors and were tested in two separate cohorts. The models showed good performance in predicting CSF a-syn status, with an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC) of 0.920 in the training/testing cohort and 0.976 in the external validation cohort. The study suggests that non-invasive clinical features can accurately predict CSF a-syn status in individuals with PD. [Extracted from the article]
