Abstract

Inventors Albert, Sean; Johnson, Timothy; Sears, Charles; Soto, Orlando; and Tortoriello, David have filed a patent application for a new type of negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) bandage. The bandage is designed to be simple, inexpensive, and easy to use for wound care. It includes an integrated pump assembly that applies negative pressure to the wound, promoting healing by drawing out exudates. The bandage also features an automatic pressure indicator and limiter to prevent excessive negative pressure. The inventors hope that this new bandage design will address the limitations of current NPWT systems and provide an effective and affordable option for wound healing. [Extracted from the article]
