Abstract

According to data from the U.S. Census Bureau, International Trade Commission, and the Recycled Materials Association, the export market for recovered paper in the U.S. has been declining since last year. From January to April 2024, U.S. exports of recovered paper were down 15 percent, totaling slightly over 4 million metric tons. The top 10 importers of U.S. recovered paper include India, Thailand, Mexico, Malaysia, Vietnam, Canada, South Korea, China, Taiwan, and Indonesia. However, some of these countries, such as India, decreased their purchases, while Malaysia and Canada increased their imports. Overall, the export market for U.S. recovered paper has been declining since 2021. [Extracted from the article]
