Abstract

A recent study conducted at Sharda University in Uttar Pradesh, India, investigated minimally invasive approaches in the treatment of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. The study included 30 patients with TMJ disorders who underwent TMJ arthrocentesis and TMJ arthroscopy. The results showed a statistically significant decrease in pain and an increase in maximum mouth opening (MMO) in patients treated with both procedures. The researchers concluded that minimally invasive approaches like TMJ arthrocentesis and TMJ arthroscopy can be useful in the treatment of TMJ disorders. [Extracted from the article]
