Abstract

This document contains three abstracts from the PM & R: Journal of Injury, Function & Rehabilitation. The first abstract discusses the impact of mild to moderate traumatic brain injury (TBI) on survival and neurological and functional outcomes in individuals with acute spinal cord injury (SCI). The study found that concomitant TBI did not significantly affect survival or outcomes after SCI. The second abstract explores the effectiveness of tele-rehabilitation in improving functionality after SCI compared to traditional in-person rehabilitation. The study found that tele-rehabilitation provided similar improvements in mobility and functional outcomes as traditional rehabilitation when patients were provided with appropriate support and equipment. The third abstract examines the use of the Buffalo Concussion Treadmill Test (BCTT) in adults with mild TBI. The study found that individuals with TBI had a higher rate of exercise intolerance compared to uninjured controls, indicating the potential utility of the BCTT in assessing tolerance to exercise in this population.
