Abstract

A recent study conducted at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal, Canada, examined the inclusion of transgender and gender-diverse populations in Canadian clinical practice guidelines (CPGs). The researchers found that very few CPGs recognized the needs of these populations, with only 20% mentioning transgender or gender-diverse individuals and 4% including relevant recommendations. The study concludes that CPG producers should strive for more equitable care by including transgender and gender-diverse individuals in CPGs and acknowledging when there is insufficient evidence. This research has been peer-reviewed and provides valuable insights into the current state of transgender health guidelines in Canada. [Extracted from the article]
