Abstract
- Researchers at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia have conducted a study on Helicobacter pylori, a bacterium that causes peptic ulcer disease (PUD). The study aimed to develop novel anti-ulcer compounds by combining different pharmacophores. The researchers synthesized chalcone derivatives and characterized them using spectroscopic techniques. They also performed DFT calculations and molecular docking to evaluate the compounds' properties and their interaction with H. pylori enzymes. The study concluded that these chalcones have potential as therapeutic candidates for PUD due to their anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and anti-adhesion properties. [Extracted from the article]
