Abstract
- The article focuses on French historian René Girard and Italian philosopher Giorgio Agamben's approaches to categorical violence, examining their views on the role of sacred victims in society. Topics include Girard's mimetic theory and its focus on the scapegoat mechanism; Agamben's political philosophy and the concept of homo sacer; and the differing ontological perspectives each thinker brings to their interpretation of violence and the sacred.
