Abstract

A recent study conducted in Uttar Pradesh, India, examined the management of avascular necrosis (AVN) of the femoral head in its early stages (I and II) without obvious radiological evidence. The study compared three surgical techniques in 82 patients and assessed various outcomes such as pain levels, hip scores, and complications. The results showed that patients treated early had better clinical and radiological recovery. The study suggests that biplanar core decompression and intraosseous platelet-rich plasma injection may be a promising salvage option for AVN patients in the early stages.
