Abstract

A recent study conducted at D'Annunzio University in Chieti, Italy has found that individuals with heightened Environmental Sensitivity (ES) may also experience Post-traumatic Growth (PTG) when faced with a traumatic event. The study surveyed 2387 adults during the first Covid-19 lockdown and found a positive association between ES and PTG, particularly when individuals experienced some anxiety but not excessive depression. The findings suggest that highly sensitive people are not only more susceptible to adversities but also more open to personal growth in challenging situations. This research has important implications for clinical practice and expands our understanding of environmental sensitivity. [Extracted from the article]
