Abstract

A recent study conducted at Seoul National University Hospital in South Korea evaluated the efficacy and safety of holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP) in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The study followed 3,000 patients over a period of several years and found that HoLEP was effective in reducing symptoms and improving urinary flow rate. Complication rates were low, although there were cases of stress urinary incontinence and de novo stone formation. Overall, the study concluded that HoLEP is a promising treatment option for BPH with favorable outcomes. [Extracted from the article]
