Abstract

A study conducted in Hangzhou, China, examined the clinical effectiveness and safety of type A botulinum toxin in treating refractory overactive bladder in adolescents. The study involved 37 patients who received intravesical injections of the toxin and recorded changes in urination diaries and urodynamic parameters. After one month of treatment, significant improvements were observed in various urinary parameters. Mild side effects were reported in some patients, but no serious complications or adverse reactions were observed. The study concluded that type A botulinum toxin can be safely and effectively administered to adolescents with refractory overactive bladder, improving their symptoms and quality of life.
