Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at Friedrich-Schiller-University in Jena, Germany, explores the genetic predispositions of salespeople and how they react to the stress of prospecting. The study suggests that carrying the Serotonin Transporter Gene S allele (SERT S) can affect a salesperson's propensity to prospect, with different effects depending on how the salesperson appraises stressors. The research provides actionable implications for business practice and contributes to understanding salesperson well-being. The study has been peer-reviewed and published in Industrial Marketing Management. [Extracted from the article]
