Abstract

A recent systematic review conducted by researchers at the University of Montreal explores the genetic factors associated with vascular cognitive impairment (VCI), a form of cognitive impairment resulting from cerebrovascular disease. The study identifies 107 unique protein-coding genes related to VCI and conducts phenome-wide scans and gene set enrichment analysis to identify pathways associated with diverse biological systems. The findings suggest that genes involved in VCI are associated with a range of biological functions. This research provides valuable insights for future therapies and highlights the need for further understanding of the genetics of VCI. [Extracted from the article]
