Abstract
- This article from Idaho Magazine discusses an old knife and sheath that were recently discovered and sent for appraisal. The knife is believed to have been made around 1935 to commemorate the friendship between Jess Taylor, who sold a remote Idaho ranch to the University of Idaho, and "Cougar" Dave Lewis, a renowned big game hunter. Cougar Dave was born in 1855 and was known for killing over a thousand cougars and other predators that were considered threats to wildlife prized by settlers. The knife and sheath will be returned to the ranch for display. [Extracted from the article]
