Abstract
- A recent study conducted at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University in China explored the use of radiomics, a method that analyzes medical images, to predict the bioactivity of hepatic alveolar echinococcosis (HAE). The study included 131 patients who underwent surgical resection for HAE. The researchers found that radiomics models based on the gross lesion volume, perilesional volume, and gross combined perilesional volume performed well in predicting the bioactivity of HAE. The study concluded that a nomogram model combining clinical and radiomic signatures showed the best performance in predicting the bioactivity of HAE. [Extracted from the article]
