Abstract

A study conducted in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, has found that benzohydrazide derivatives have good biological activity against bacteria and different cancer cell lines. The study synthesized and characterized seven metal complexes of benzohydrazide derivatives, which showed respectable activity against bacteria and demonstrated higher cytotoxic activity against human liver cancer cells. The study also investigated the inhibitory activity of the benzohydrazide derivative and its complexes on quinone oxidoreductase 2, a protein associated with liver cancer. The results highlighted the potential of organometallic compounds in cancer chemotherapy. [Extracted from the article]
