Abstract
- A study conducted by researchers at Henan University of Science and Technology in China explores the potential of developing a vaccine for Porphyromonas gingivalis (Pg), a Gram-negative anaerobic bacterium responsible for chronic periodontitis. The researchers discuss the use of surface antigens of Pg as vaccine antigens to trigger immune responses and highlight advancements in mucosal adjuvants for vaccine development. The review offers new insights for the advancement and clinical implementation of Pg vaccines. The study was supported by The Key Research Project of Higher Education Institutions in Henan Province.
