Abstract
- Researchers from Southern Medical University in Guangzhou, China have developed a new method for assessing the potency of Japanese encephalitis (JE) vaccines. The researchers established an automatic time-resolved fluoroimmunoassay to detect the envelope (E) protein in the vaccine, which is responsible for inducing the production of neutralizing antibodies. The assay demonstrated good stability and effectiveness in quality control for JE vaccine production, suggesting it could be an alternative in vitro potency assay for these vaccines. This research provides valuable insights into improving the quality control of JE vaccines and preventing JE infections. [Extracted from the article]
