Abstract

A recent study conducted at the University of Johannesburg in South Africa explored the use of hydrogels and photobiomodulation (PBM) to enhance the viability and proliferation of adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) in regenerative medicine. ADSCs are often used in this field due to their ability to differentiate into various cell types and promote healing. However, they face challenges in surviving and integrating into wounds. The researchers found that the combination of hydrogels and PBM showed promising results in improving ADSC proliferation without causing any cytotoxic effects. This study highlights the potential of using these techniques to enhance the effectiveness of 3D cell culture in regenerative medicine. [Extracted from the article]
