Abstract
- A study conducted at Usmanu Danfodiyo University in Sokoto, Northwestern Nigeria, aimed to determine the prevalence and etiological agents of otomycosis, a fungal infection of the external auditory canal. The study found that otomycosis affects all age groups and both sexes, and if left untreated, it may result in morbidity. The most commonly isolated fungi in the study were Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans. The researchers recommend conducting mycological studies on all patients with symptoms of otomycosis to guide proper management of the disease. [Extracted from the article]
