Researchers from Tehran Islamic Azad University of Medical Sciences have synthesized and identified magnetic nickel oxide nanoparticles for the pre-concentration and determination of gemfibrozil in human serum samples, pharmaceutical wastewater, and drugs. The nanoparticles were characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectrum (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The method was successfully used to determine gemfibrozil using a UV-Vis spectrometer, and the results were compared to the standard high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method, showing no significant difference between the two methods.
