Abstract

A recent study conducted at the University of Mansoura in Egypt explored a novel technique called veil sparing Holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (VS-HoLEP) to improve continence outcomes following the procedure. The study compared VS-HoLEP to standard HoLEP and found that patients who underwent VS-HoLEP had better early continence outcomes, with fewer cases of urinary incontinence and a shorter time to continence. The researchers concluded that optimizing the surgical technique could reduce the number and severity of postoperative urine leaks. This research has been peer-reviewed and published in Minerva Urology and Nephrology. [Extracted from the article]
