Abstract

A new report from Kunming Medical University in China explores the prevalence and prediction of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in alcohol-associated liver disease (ALD). The study analyzed a database of 136,571 inpatients with chronic liver disease from 2002 to 2018 and found that the incidence of ALD-related HCC has significantly increased over the past 17 years. The researchers developed a nomogram model that accurately predicts the risk of HCC development in patients with ALD, which can assist clinicians in developing personalized treatment strategies. The study highlights the need for increased awareness and prevention of ALD-related HCC. [Extracted from the article]
