Abstract

A recent report from Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania, discusses the development of a novel murine meningococcal meningitis model using a capsule-null bacterial strain. The researchers aimed to create a cost-efficient model using CD-1 mice instead of expensive transgenic mice. The study successfully established the model and found that antibiotic treatment groups had significantly higher survival rates compared to the control group. This research provides valuable insights into the study of antimicrobial compounds for meningococcal meningitis. [Extracted from the article]
