Abstract

Researchers at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in Shanghai, China have developed a new biological scaffold material for repairing diabetic bone defects. The material, called a foam-like scaffold, is injectable and can be shaped to fit the specific defect. It incorporates glucose oxidase-integrated metal-organic framework hybrids, which help regulate the diabetic microenvironment within the bone defect site. The scaffold has shown promising results in blood sugar regulation, reactive oxygen species elimination, inflammation modulation, and the facilitation of bone and blood vessel growth. This research represents a significant advancement in the field of diabetic bone regeneration. [Extracted from the article]
