Abstract

A recent report from Jilin University in Changchun, People's Republic of China, discusses new research findings on the use of lysozyme as a potential solution to drug-resistant bacteria. Lysozyme has traditionally had a weak effect on Gram-negative bacteria, limiting its clinical application. However, researchers have modified lysozyme using a tetrahedral framework nucleic acid (TDN), creating a complex called TDN-Lys. This modification significantly enhanced lysozyme's bactericidal effect against drug-resistant bacteria and effectively healed MRSA-infected wounds in mice. The study suggests that this method could provide a feasible strategy against bacterial drug resistance. [Extracted from the article]
