Abstract
- A study conducted by researchers at Shandong Jianzhu University in Jinan, China, has investigated the retention and transport of the antiviral drug ribavirin in saturated sand and limestone porous media. The study found that ribavirin exhibits strong mobility in saturated quartz sand media and is less affected by hydrochemical factors, posing a high risk of migration. However, in limestone porous media, the migration of ribavirin decreases. The presence of certain ions and humic acid affects the effluent recovery rate of ribavirin. These findings contribute to our understanding of the environmental fate of ribavirin and can aid in ecological restoration efforts. [Extracted from the article]
