Abstract

A recent study conducted at Shenyang Pharmaceutical University in China has discovered a series of novel thiophene-3-carboxamide derivatives that have potential as VEGFR-2 inhibitors with anti-angiogenic properties. Compound 14d, in particular, showed excellent anti-proliferative activity against various cancer cell lines and effective VEGFR-2 inhibitory activity. The compound also demonstrated the ability to inhibit colony formation, cell migration, and tube formation in a dose-dependent manner. These findings suggest that compound 14d could be a promising lead compound for anti-angiogenesis. The research was supported by various funding sources and has been peer-reviewed.
