Abstract
- This article discusses the relationship between the gut microbiome and disease progression in multiple sclerosis (MS). The researchers used a mouse model of MS to investigate the role of microbiota-derived metabolites in age-dependent disease progression. They found that microbiota from aged mice did not drive disease progression in young mice, but microbiota from young and aged human donors induced different disease phenotypes. This study provides insights into the metabolites associated with disease chronicity and severity in MS. However, it is important to note that this research has not yet undergone peer review.
