Abstract

• Territorial aggression in a 2-year-old dog. • Treatment with venlafaxine and clonidine. • Did not respond to fluoxetine or sertraline. • Positive outcome. A 2-year-old intact male German Shepherd dog was presented for aggressive behavior toward unfamiliar people. The aggressive behavior was limited to the yard and home of the owner. The dog was diagnosed with territorial aggression. The patient had not responded to two different selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (fluoxetine, sertraline) before responding to a combination of venlafaxine extended release and clonidine.
