Abstract

Japan's high-tech toilets, known for their warm seats and precision spray technology, are becoming popular worldwide, especially in the United States. Japanese company TOTO, a pioneer in electric bidets, has seen a surge in overseas sales, with revenue doubling since 2012. The COVID-19 pandemic has also contributed to the increased demand for bidet toilets as consumers seek alternatives to toilet paper. However, US competitors are challenging Japanese brands in the bidet market. Meanwhile, the Philippines is experiencing a brain drain in the cybersecurity sector, with a surge in cyber attacks highlighting the country's digital security skills gap. The government has launched a cybersecurity strategy to strengthen defenses, but industry analysts warn of shortages of skilled cybersecurity professionals. The shortage of cybersecurity professionals is a global issue, with around 4 million vacancies worldwide. The Philippines faces domestic shortages due to migration and inadequate training opportunities. The government is taking steps to boost recruitment and improve training programs in cybersecurity.
