Abstract

A study conducted by researchers at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University in Uttar Pradesh, India, explores the design of new cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitors using an in-silico approach. The study aims to address the need for current medications in various therapeutic domains, including cancer prevention and Alzheimer's disease treatment. The researchers evaluated a series of 70 potential anti-inflammatory compounds and identified 12 highly promising molecules that interact with the COX-2 receptor. The study suggests that these molecules could be potential candidates for non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in the treatment of inflammatory diseases. [Extracted from the article]
