Abstract

A recent report discusses research on cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) and the effectiveness of different laser ablation techniques for its treatment. The study specifically focuses on the use of a holmium yttrium-aluminum-garnet (Ho:YAG) laser and its efficacy in preventing recurrence of CIN2/3. The research found that laser ablation with the Ho:YAG laser showed promising results, with a 2-year recurrence rate of 5.6%. Age was found to be a significant factor in recurrence risk, while preoperative CIN grade and HPV status did not significantly affect it. The study suggests that postoperative high-risk HPV testing should be conducted after diagnostic conization to detect recurrence. [Extracted from the article]
