A recent report from Gansu Provincial Maternity and Child-care Hospital in Lanzhou, China, discusses the development of a mild and eco-friendly method for preparing kaolin-decorated gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) using Ephedra root extract as a green reducing and stabilizing agent. The structural features of the Au NPs/Kaolin were assessed using various techniques. The researchers found that the bio-nanocomposite showed antioxidant efficacy and demonstrated cytotoxicity against human ovarian carcinoma cells.
