Abstract
- A recent report from Gansu Provincial Maternity and Child-care Hospital in Lanzhou, China, discusses the development of a mild and eco-friendly method for preparing kaolin-decorated gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) using Ephedra root extract as a green reducing and stabilizing agent. The structural features of the Au NPs/Kaolin were assessed using various techniques. The researchers found that the bio-nanocomposite showed antioxidant efficacy and demonstrated cytotoxicity against human ovarian carcinoma cells. In an in vivo study, the bio-nanocomposite ameliorated symptoms of adenomyosis in mice by modulating the MAPK/ERK signaling pathway and reducing inflammatory factors. The research suggests potential applications for the management of ovarian cancer and adenomyosis. [Extracted from the article]
