Abstract
- A recent report from Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University in Rawalpindi, Pakistan highlights the cultural challenges faced by women in accessing maternal healthcare services. The study conducted in-depth interviews with 24 women and found that cultural barriers often make it difficult for women to access healthcare services. Food taboos were identified as both helpful and harmful to women's health. The research emphasizes the need to address challenges such as lack of knowledge, limited decision-making power, and societal taboos. The study also highlights the importance of men in determining women's medical requirements. [Extracted from the article]
