Abstract
- A study conducted at a major eye clinic in Gujranwala, Pakistan, examined the effect of muting the sound of an Argon Laser machine on patient compliance and pain during pan-retinal photocoagulation (PRP). The study included 80 patients with various eye conditions, such as proliferative diabetic retinopathy and retinal breaks. The patients were divided into two groups, with one group receiving muted machine settings and the other group undergoing regular PRP. The study found that muting the machine sound significantly reduced noise anxiety and improved patient cooperation. This research has been peer-reviewed and provides valuable insights into managing anxiety disorders during medical procedures. [Extracted from the article]
