Abstract

A study conducted at the National Institute of Technology Karnataka in India has discovered new compounds with antimicrobial properties. The compounds, called pyrazine-1,3,4-oxadiazole hybrids and [1,2,4]triazolo[3,4-b][1,3,4] thiadiazine derivatives, showed promising activity against the M. tuberculosis H37Rv strain as well as antibacterial and antifungal activity. The compounds also exhibited low toxicity and were not harmful to normal cells. Further analysis was conducted to understand the compounds' electronic properties and pharmacological potential. The research has been peer-reviewed and more information can be found in the Journal of Molecular Structure. [Extracted from the article]
