Abstract

This document is a reply to a letter discussing a study on the use of pericapsular nerve group (PENG) block for pain management in elderly patients with hip fractures. The authors explain that the selection of time points for pain assessment in the study was based on the study objective and feasibility. They acknowledge the potential value of examining pain levels at additional time points and suggest that future studies could address this limitation. The authors also clarify that the comparison in the study was between the PENG block and a sham block to assess the specific impact of the PENG block itself, and they acknowledge the need for further research comparing the PENG block with other effective peripheral nerve blocks.
