Abstract

A recent study conducted at Henan University of Technology in China has reported new findings in the area of breast cancer treatment. The study focuses on chemodynamic therapy (CDT), which has potential in cancer treatment but is limited by non-specificity and insufficient hydrogen peroxide and glutathione within the tumor microenvironment. The researchers developed an intelligent nanoplatform called CD44FMNA, which targets breast cancer cells and releases nitric oxide donors to deplete glutathione and enhance the Fenton-like reaction, leading to apoptosis and cell death. In vivo studies showed that CD44FMNA effectively inhibited tumor growth with good biosafety. This research provides insights into a potential therapy for breast cancer treatment.
