Abstract
- A preprint abstract from medrxiv.org discusses the association between glucose loading and the dopamine transporter (DAT) in the brain. The study found that glucose loading led to higher DAT availability in the caudate and putamen regions of the brain compared to a placebo. Additionally, individuals with higher DAT availability after glucose loading were more likely to have a desire for sweet foods. This research suggests that the change in DAT availability after consuming glucose may contribute to cravings for sweet foods. However, it is important to note that this study has not yet undergone peer review. [Extracted from the article]
